I work at Andalusia Academy as a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant in Year 5/6. I have been working as a Learning Support Assistant in several schools across Bristol since 2010. Alhamdulillah I had an opportunity to work in some of the outstanding schools in Bristol as a Teaching Assistant, Reading Assistant and 1:1 Learning Support Assistant. I joined Andalusia Academy in October 2021 and I can say with conviction that this school has the same good standards as any other school. I joined this for only one reason: to help my community through my immense experience. I love working here and everyone is so friendly and supportive to each other. I maybe recent here as a teaching staff, but I have known Andalusia since 2010 when my eldest daughter ( who's doing Masters now) joined Andalusia. All my four children went to this school and they are all doing very well religiously and academically. So I have a very strong belief about the school that it is serving the whole community by giving the outstanding teaching and learning to our children.

Parveen Akhtar
I am the Year One / Two teacher at Andalusia Academy Bristol. I hold a BA (Hons) in Early Years Education and gained Qualified Teacher Status in 2017. The thing I enjoy most about my role is the daily interactions with the students. It is these daily interactions, where we get the chance to discover and share some of the best parts of ourselves as human beings that make my time here at Andalusia Academy Bristol so enjoyable. If I was to be asked what I love most about teaching I would say that it is hugely rewarding as we make a difference every single day in someone's life which goes beyond just imparting knowledge. I feel privileged that I am able to inspire, support, and mentor a whole new generation in some small part.

"With a background in inbound Marketing, sales and quality control, I previously worked as part of a small team for one of the UK's largest 118 directory services. Increasing their client base and creating business opportunities. However, having given birth to my second daughter, I decided to leave marketing and pursue a career as a Learning Support assistant. Raising my three daughters has taught me so much about myself and how I truly enjoy teaching. As an LSA I can help students to achieve their goals and provide them with the necessary support to improve their lives. At Andalusia, I hope to grow in to this role and help this institution grow."

My name is Shatha Said (Abla Shatha) and I am a Teaching Assistant working with Mrs. Abdi for primary students. I joined the Andalusia Academy in 2006 as an Arabic teacher prior to my role in delivering Arabic and Quran for both primary and secondary students. My current role however, focuses solely on primary students who we teach Quran to. Quran is an essential subject and we teach it passionately and with great care to ensure our students leave with great pronunciation, Tajweed and memory. Anadalusia Academy provides an Islamic ethos, which is unique and objective and it is pleasure for me to be part of this institution. I hope more people take the opportunity to benefit from the great achievements this institution has to offer.

I started working in AAB in 2013. I currently teach Islamic Studies for primary. My passion lies in teaching my students about Islam in order for them to grow up to become leaders of the Ummah. I love to make Islam fun for my students and remind that it's a way of life. I always encourage my students to participate and take part in competitions that we organize every term to increase their knowledge about this beautiful religion. My students have completed Names of Allah challenge and took part in many nasheed competitions thorough out the year that really puts the fun in Islamic Studies. Learning about the stories of the prophets and seerah of our beloved prophet Muhammed can be taught in a fun creative way. I hope to be a good role model for my students and to encourage them to be the best Muslims they can be. My hobbies are cooking and baking cakes.

Tiara Sharif
I have been working in Andalusia Academy Bristol since 2009 with a break between 2013-2017. All four of my daughters have attended AAB and two of them are still here, one in Primary and one in Secondary. My eldest daughter recently graduated with a Degree in Psychology and the other is currently doing an Apprenticeship in Engineering at Rolls Royce after successfully completing her GCSEs at AAB in 2018. I have lived in Bristol for over 22 years and have always been an active member of the community. I have taught Seerah classes to adult circles for many years and ran youth workshops in collaboration with local masjids. I feel very passionately about helping the youth to successfully integrate into the wider society whilst still holding on to their Islamic identity. I believe that we continue to learn throughout our lives and personally I take every opportunity to further improve my knowledge. I have attended many short courses and classes around my subject and this year, alhumdulillah, I completed my one year diploma with isyllabus in Islamic Studies.

Teaching is my passion; my first degree is in Dentistry but when I came to the UK and started teaching Arabic and Quran; I realised that I have great interest in education. I have been teaching for 14 years and have teaching experience in different settings and countries. I've taught English as a second language for few years out of the UK, language schools in the UK. Currently, I am teaching Arabic and Quran at Andalusia. My first teaching experience at Andalusia was in 2006 when I taught Islamic studies to key stage 3 and year 10. One of my aims is to implant the love of the Arabic language into the children, and help them realise the strong connection between learning Arabic and reading and understanding the Quran. I also aim to help children improve their Quran recitation. Alhamdella I hold Ijaza in memorising the Quran in the narration of Hafs. My broader aim is to help Andalusia Academy prosper to be among the leading schools in this country. I am interested in gardening, I love plants, flowers and going to parks and national trust sites. I also love crocheting and double knitting.

I joined this wonderful school in September 2019, however, I have been teaching the Arabic language for around 6 years. I am very passionate about teaching Arabic and love nothing more than sharing my Arabic knowledge with the students. The school environment is the best environment for my personality because I enjoy engaging the students in their Arabic and I also believe that I am a good listener which builds a caring relationship with the students. These are just some of the reasons why I find teaching satisfying.
